Rocksmith Review

I recently purchased the Rocksmith guitar game for PS3. I also purchased my first guitar from a local guitar center. This game was a highly anticipated game for me, because of the claims of really teaching you how to play. I thought that was very exciting. A way to learn guitar through a gaming system, I would have to experience this myself.
Upon start up, you choose the hand you are most comfortable with to strum; I’m a righty so i strum with my right. After you choose your strumming hand you test your guitars sound. Be aware, that most people experience display lag with their televisions. Its common with HDMI connections, however, Rocksmith’s remedy is to use analog connections. I simply turned on game mode on my TV and turned the note speed down to thirty and it worked fine.
In game play the computer starts you off from simply strumming and then gradually increases its difficulty based on how well you do. For every technique of the game there are videos and mini games to help you improve on any particular technique. You can also enter another game section where you can have a free playing session and use all the effects and amps you acquire during game play which I think is a really cool feature
Rocksmith deserves a great rating. It actually teaches you to play. I had it about two weeks now and I’ve learned to play sustains, chords, mutes, and more. The only drawback for me is the long loading waiting times. When you get into the game you want to continue playing nonstop. So to solve that problem I jus restart the game when the song is approaching the ending. Overall, it is really worth the 200 bucks needed for the total Rocksmith experience.

ROCK ON!
